Introducing Dan Ashmore: A Culinary Journey

Dan's culinary odyssey began at the tender age of 15, where he first honed his skills in the cozy confines of a cafe nestled within a picturesque garden centre. Fueling his passion for the culinary arts, he pursued formal training at Sheffield City College, immersing himself in the world of catering and hospitality.

At the remarkable age of 16, Dan embarked on a remarkable journey, joining the prestigious Michelin-starred establishment, Fischers at Baslow Hall. From there, his trajectory only soared higher as he ventured to London, gracing the kitchens of The Square, a renowned 2 Michelin-starred restaurant, and later Restaurant Tom Aiken's.

Dan's culinary prowess led him to Edinburgh, shaping the next chapter of his career. Serving as sous chef at Number One, Dan showcased his talent and dedication, paving the way for his ascension to his first head chef role at The Pompadour by Galvin.

Under his leadership, The Pompadour flourished, garnering accolades including 3 rosettes, a Michelin plate, and prestigious awards such as Fine Dining Chef of the Year. Dan's journey took him to new heights as he helmed the Strathearn restaurant at Gleneagles before returning triumphantly to The Pompadour to collaborate with Dean, eventually spearheading the opening of Dean Banks at The Pompadour.

In a testament to his culinary acumen, Dan was appointed Executive Chef for Scotland at Gordon Ramsay Restaurants, further solidifying his status as a culinary luminary. Returning to his roots, Dan rejoined the Dean Banks Group as Group Executive Chef, where he continues to craft culinary experiences that captivate the senses.
